Tapestry Offline

Outdoor Service

Providing you with a safe outdoor space for you to come and worship in-person.

Due to the recent rise of COVID-19 cases both nationally and locally, we have decided to pause all in-person services for at least the weeks of November 22nd, 29th, and December 6th. We made this decision prayerfully and out of an abundance of caution in response to this most recent rise in cases. We will continue to broadcast every Sunday at 11am.

Q: What is the main objective of in-person services?

A: We want to provide a safe outdoor space for those who want to come and worship together in-person at our church. An outdoor service has been created with social distancing and safety precautions in mind. In accordance to our city guidelines, this service will take place in our church parking lot with limited seating. This will not affect our Church at Home livestream service on Sundays at 11AM.

Q: What are some of the safety procedures in place?

A: The health of our members is our priority! Below are our main safety protocols.

  • Masks will be required at all times.
  • All attendees will have their temperature checked.
  • Outdoor seating will follow physical distancing guidelines.
  • Multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available around our outdoor service area.
  • Restrooms in the foyer will be available for your use; all other areas of the church will be closed.
  • Our parking lot, all chairs, and restrooms will be thoroughly cleaned before and after service.
  • No pets will be allowed.

Q: What steps should I take when I attend?

A: If you have underlying medical conditions, are over the age of 65 or show any symptoms at all (such as runny nose, cough, fever, or difficulty breathing), please join us virtually from home.

Please arrive at church at least 15 min prior to the start of service. Please strictly use Lot 2 (Venice & Olive), Lot 3 (1753 S. Hill St), or street parking. Check parking map here.

As you're approaching the church, please have an appropriate mask on (masks with valves or vents and bandanas are not allowed). Please be mindful to keep your mask over your nose and mouth at all times (if you do not have one, we will provide you one at the check-in station).

Please check-in at the black gate for a mandatory temperature check. An usher will escort you and your quarantine household to a physically distanced seat (starting from the front). Once our service concludes, the ushers will dismiss the attendees one row at a time (starting from the back).

Q: Why Saturday afternoon?

A: Due to the preparation and noise level from our 11AM service audio check and worship practice in the sanctuary, we are not able to hold simultaneous worship outdoors on Sundays in the parking lot.

Early evening is also ideal because our parking lot is fully covered with shade instead of being in direct sunlight on Sunday mornings. Lastly, we want to be mindful of work/school preparations that usually take place on Sunday evenings.

Q: How will RSVP work?

A: Through our website and app, we will be opening up sign ups in 2 weeks increments with 10/3 & 10/10 as our pilot services. We ask that you only sign up once (per person/household) for the first 2 weeks (either on 10/3 or 10/10) to give other people an opportunity to attend. In the event a service is full, we will have a waiting list available as well, and will give you an option to indicate if you’d like to attend future Saturday Tapestry Offline services.

Q: Will children be allowed to attend?

A: Once we have successfully held services with adults only, we will allow children and youth between 10-17 years old to attend. All minors must be capable of maintaining safety measures & wear face-coverings the entire time to worship with parents.

We hope to eventually open up our in-person services & ministry activities for ALL ages, according to our local government guidelines in phases. Basic guideline for families: All TapKids and Youth programs will remain virtual at the moment.

Q: When the local authorities allow us to meet indoors, what will we do?

A: Our church will continue to align with our local government’s health guidelines. If the local authorities allow us to do so, at that point our in-person service will be moved from one Saturday outdoor service to two capacity limited indoor services on Sunday mornings at 9:00 & 11:00 AM. This would not affect our Church at Home livestream service on Sundays at 11 AM (The 9 AM service will not be livestreamed for the time being)
